THE RIGHT FOOTWEAR FOR YOUR HEALTH

What woman (and many a man) doesn't have it: that one pair of shoes that she can only wear sitting down because they are so uncomfortable. Or even better, the pair that only sits in the wardrobe but had to be bought anyway because it's so chic.
What characteristics do shoes need to fulfill?
In the past, shoes were mainly used to protect us from injury. They had no other function and didn't have to meet any other requirements. Today, this has changed completely. Shoes have to keep up with fashion, look good and underline our personality. This often leads to shoes that are visually appealing but totally uncomfortable, have the wrong shape and constrict the foot. However, the perfect shoe should be comfortable AND beautiful.
The right length and width
Some people buy shoes that are too small and too tight. It is important that you have enough room in the shoe, especially in the forefoot area. The ideal shoe is not too narrow but not too wide. It should have an allowance (space from toe to toe) of one fingertip (approx. 1.5 cm), as the foot slides forward slightly when walking. If this is not guaranteed, the foot will bump into the shoe when rolling and will be constricted.
It should also not be too wide, otherwise you will not have enough support in the shoe and will slide around. This takes an incredible amount of strength from the foot and puts enormous strain on the foot muscles. It also increases the risk of falling.
You can find the application video for determining shoe size here..
Very important: The shoe should fit your foot and not your foot fit the shoe. BÄR shoes offer 100% toe freedom and yet perfect support.
Do you really know your correct shoe size? This often changes in adulthood due to muscle growth or pregnancy.
The right materials
Why should I spend so much money on a leather shoe when I can get shoes for €30? The material of the shoe is just as important as the fit. It should be breathable and absorb moisture. Leather is a natural product and behaves like our own skin. It stores moisture and transports it to the outside, ensuring a good foot climate inside the shoe. If it is too damp in the shoe, fungus can quickly form, which is often difficult to combat. Do something good for your feet and don't put them in poorly ventilated shoes made of artificial materials (sports shoes with special functional materials are an exception). It is definitely worth spending more money and buying shoes made of leather. Nevertheless, they should be changed regularly so that the shoe can air out and has time to dry completely inside..
You've got it too: that one much-loved favorite shoe that you prefer to wear every day and never want to throw away. But that's precisely why it wears out so much. Soles wear unevenly and seams come apart.
