40 years of BÄR shoes - thank you!

BÄR is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers for their trust! It is thanks to them that BÄR Manufaktur, now in its second generation, has been able to continue to develop with all its values, visions and principles and always remain true to itself. We take great pleasure in doing everything we can to earn this trust again and again: With beautiful, high-quality shoes that will give you pleasure for a long time and pamper your feet with toe freedom.

But how did it all begin?

It was in 1982: company founder Christian Bär couldn't find any shoes in which he could walk and stand without pain. This gave rise to the idea of inventing his own shoe. And together with an experienced shoemaker from the Swabian Alb and a creative last maker from the Palatinate, he developed the first shoes with the unmistakable principle of uncompromising toe freedom. And together with his wife Hilke, he founded BÄR Manufaktur für komforte Schuhe in Bietigheim-Bissingen, with an ever-expanding range for all occasions.

Today, sons Christof and Sebastian Bär continue to run the family business with passion, innovation and a focus on the future. The initial motivation to produce high-quality shoes with toe freedom for the best possible walking comfort has remained. The wide selection of everyday, business, sports, in-house and outdoor models has been further expanded with the new innovative hiking collection. 40 years after the company was founded, BÄR shoes are available in 23 stores, in the company's own online store and via catalogs worldwide.

BÄR not only focuses on the present, but also always looks to the future with the aim of taking an ecologically sustainable path for future generations. Christof Bär: "As a second-generation family business, it is important to me that we pass the company and the world on to our children in good condition. We can't save the world on our own, but we are doing what we can to help - with conviction and passion."
