SPRING CLEANING

Spring is just around the corner - time for spring cleaning! Not only your home, but also your shoes can be spruced up again, making them twice as much fun. The sun is gaining strength every day and the warm winter shoes can finally be stowed away in the back of the wardrobe until the next onset of winter. The perfect spring look calls for light shoes in fresh colors!

This makes spring cleaning really fun: make yourself a cup of coffee, wake up all your beautiful spring shoes from hibernation, sit on the balcony with your sunglasses on and let your shoes shine in new splendor.

Why do shoes need to be shined at all?

Shoes that have not been used for a long time should be properly pampered before they are worn for the first time - practically a spa visit for the shoes. After a few months in a dark cupboard, leather can become dry and brittle. Just like our skin, it needs sufficient care and moisture. Especially in wet weather, leather loses its oils and can dry out. With the right shoe polish and care treatment, shoes get everything they need. They become a real eye-catcher and look like new. Smooth leather:

Depending on the grain and structure, smooth leather has a slight to strong sheen. The surface is often treated with a special sealant to protect it even better. However, to ensure that the leather does not lose its shine, the shoes should first be cleaned of dust with a horsehair brush. The smooth leather care cream is then applied with a cloth and rubbed in before the shoes are given a shine with the shine brush. 

Suede leather:  

The leather hides are defined by their velvety surface. In order to maintain this character, it is best to use a suede sponge, with which you can carefully restore the fibers in a circular motion. Use a hand crepe brush to remove dust and small pieces of dirt from your shoes. For suede, you can also use the stain-removing sponge for stubborn stains. Once you have cleaned your shoes, they should be impregnated with the Power Protector. 

Textile:

Textile shoes are comfortable to wear as they fit the foot perfectly and are very light. Unfortunately, dirt settles in the fabric far too quickly. Even if the shoes are not made of leather, they should be cleaned and cared for. Coarse dirt can be removed with a crepe brush. Wet cloths often help too.
