WARM THROUGH THE COLD MONTHS: TIPS FOR COZY, WARM FEET
A little anecdote to start with: we've all had the proverbial "cold feet" at one time or another. But do you know where this saying comes from? It comes from the world of gambling, which was often forbidden in the past. In order to indulge in their vice, poker players would go down to the cellar to play cards. If one of them had a bad hand and wanted to quit the game, they would say: "My feet are freezing cold, I'd better leave."
In fact, cold feet are extremely unpleasant and can cause all kinds of trouble, depending on where you are: you have to stop walking outside in nature, you find it difficult to concentrate at your desk, you can't fall asleep in bed ... The causes of cold feet vary - the good news is that if you know what they are, you can find a remedy.
There are two things you should bear in mind when buying shoes: Shoes with enough room in the toe area and thick soles. The foot should have room to move in the shoe.

This also allows a warming air cushion to form between the foot and the shoe wall. Also look for a thick tread that acts as an insulating layer between the foot and the ground.
The choice of socks is also important: sweaty feet mean cold feet, because wetness cools the feet down. A double layer of socks ensures comfortably warm feet: thin socks made of cotton or bamboo viscose and thick woolen socks on top. Or you can opt for OUTDOOR SOKS, which are as warm as new wool socks, only much lighter. A balanced foot climate guaranteed! Another tip are socks with harder nubs that gently massage the foot and stimulate blood circulation SOCKTOES.
There are also medical causes for cold feet, the most common being low blood pressure. In such cases, it can be helpful to get the circulation going with some exercise and to stimulate blood circulation with a stimulating foot massage. Of course, you can use your own hands for this, but there are also numerous pleasant aids that make the massage even more effective: from the simple BLACK ROLL massage roller to the tried-and-tested Bruno from BÄR MEIN BRUNO to the massage device, which is not only suitable for foot massage, but also for back and neck massage. Wonderful!
If your feet are still cold despite these tips, there is one household remedy that always helps: warm water! Whether in the form of a steaming cup of tea, which stays hot as long as possible in the BÄR TASSE EDELSTAHL, a warm footbath, preferably enriched with nourishing scented oils, or the good old hot water bottle on your feet. As you can see, there are many ways to keep your feet, and therefore your whole body, warm during this cold time of year. We will be happy to advise you in more detail by telephone or in one of the BÄR branches.
